Hydrogenation:

Somu group has a long history on the manufacture of hydrogenated products, particularly ketone derivatives to corresponding alcohols in the various segments. We have dedicated specially designed pressure autoclave reactors ranging from R&D to large scale, with latest safety controlled operating systems. A wide range of transition metal and precious metal catalysts are used e.g. (Pd), (Pt), (Ni) and (Rh).

Alkylation:

Somu group have the expertise to handle alkyl halides to perform alkylation reaction and have experience in forming typical C-alkylation, O-alkylation, and N-alkylation reactions. Somu group has customized containment facilities to handle a wide range of challenging materials on-site, such as Methyl iodide and Dimethyl sulfate

Acylation:

Somu group have the capabilities to handle Friedel–Crafts reagents to perform various acylation reactions and has dedicated facilities to handle the Friedel–Crafts reactions and abilities to conduct risk assessments concerning the use of new chemical reagents, substances, and laboratory procedures.

Esterification:

Somu group has a long history on the manufacture of products based on Esterification and has extensive knowledge on large scale manufacture of speciality esters derived from wide range of alcohols and acids and has particular know-how and expertise in manufacturing esters from low to high molecular weight to derive respective esters in dedicated manufacturing facility.

Decarboxylation:

Somu group has capable of handling high temperature decarboxylation reactions, particularly mono and di-decarboxylations and has dedicated reactor facilities specially designed high pressure and thermic fluid limpet coil reactors for high temperature reactions, which incorporate the latest safety controlled operating systems.

Amidation:

Somu group is capable of handling anhydrous Ammonia and anhydrous alkylamines (e.g Methylamine) for animation reactions. Somu group has a dedicated in-house Process Safety and Health & Safety team who are responsible for assessing safety measures.

Hydrolysis:

Somu group can conduct hydrolysis reactions at an intermediate scale to kilograms for manufacturing in tonne quantities at their manufacturing site. All processes undergo safety testing and reaction hazard screening evaluations. Somu group has a dedicated in-house Process Safety and Health & Safety team who are responsible for assessing safety measures.

Amination:

Somu group routinely conducts amination and reductive amination reactions to produce a wide range of speciality amine products and intermediates. Somu group has a dedicated in-house Process Safety and Health & Safety team who are responsible for assessing safety measures.

Aromatization:

Somu group routinely conducts aromatization reaction using raney nickel to produce a wide range of speciality chemicals and intermediates. Typically aromatization is achieved by dehydrogenation of existing cyclic compounds. Somu group has a dedicated in-house Process Safety and Health & Safety team who are responsible for assessing safety measures.

Bromination:

Somu group has extensive knowledge to conduct bromination reactions using different brominating agent via free radical and addition mechanism at an intermediate scale to kilograms for manufacturing in tonne quantities . All processes undergo safety testing and reaction hazard screening evaluations.
